Four-day festival of non-traditional theatre forms OFFstage: Street theatre, site-specific and alternative performances.

On the last week of August, a downtown of Ostrava will be dominated by the theatre without „the planks that mean the world“. Forget about high heels and strangling ties, this time actors go to your everyday life.

During the four-day competition festival, nine theatre ensembles from all over the Czech Republic will perform unconventionally processed classical titles, as well as avant-garde experiments. One performance will also be created site-specific, especially for Ostrava during a short artistic residence. The festival will be held at various places, such as an old hotel building, a ceremonial hall, cellars and garages, or the streets and squares.

All performances will take place in the presence of an expert jury, which will select two highest quality pieces that will receive money reward. Also, the audience has an important role – people will decide which of the ensembles will play at the prestigious Open Air Theatre Festival in Hradec Králové.

Tickets for the first year of the OFFenziva Festival will be distributed in the form of toll reservations due to the diverse and often limited space. However, some of the performances will be available for many visitors, for the recommended, but not mandatory, admission.
