Over the past decade, Parrabbola has been proud to work in Europe, pioneering large scale community play productions of Shakespeare, bringing together creative team members from the UK to work with community artists from numerous countries to present site specific promenade productions in some of Europe’s major festivals, and in some stunning and unique locations. In the main these productions have come about because of our participation as a full partner in Creative Europe funded projects.

As that situation changes, we wanted to record the impact that this work has had on some of the UK artists who have travelled with us to make it. We asked four colleagues from our last Shake Fear | Break Walls collaboration, made in Gdansk in November 2020 as part of Shaking the Walls cooperation project, to tell us how working as creative artists in Europe has impacted on them, so that we can share this with you in celebration of the work we have made so far.
